Need a weight nobody stocks? Stage Weights runs its own fabrication shop that designs and manufactures any stage or event counterweight, from a handful of matches for an old arbor to a full production run.
What we can build
Our fabrication shop can custom design and manufacture any stage or event counterweight. Most custom work falls into one of four jobs: matching a discontinued arbor weight, hitting an exact weight per piece, fitting a non-standard arbor, or shaping a weight to sit on specific event gear.
- Matches for older arbors. New weights cut to the pattern of the ones already on your rail.
- Exact weights. A specific weight per piece for fine trim or a crew's handling limit.
- Non-standard dimensions. Odd lengths, widths, thicknesses and notch patterns.
- Event-specific shapes. Weights made to sit on, slot over or stack with particular equipment.
How a custom order works
- Send us what you have. Measurements, a drawing, photos with a tape measure, or a sample weight.
- Confirm the design and quote. We check fit, weight per piece and quantity, then give you a price and timeline.
- We fabricate. Your weights are built in our shop.
- Crated and shipped. Finished weights are crated at our warehouse and loaded for freight to your dock.
Why an exact fit matters
Arbor weights ride on the arbor rods by their notches and stack on each other in a tight column. A weight that's too wide won't load; one that's too loose or uneven can shift in the stack. Matching length, width, thickness and notch size keeps every piece seated the way the system was designed.

Yes. Send us exact measurements, a drawing or a sample piece and we'll build weights that fit your arbor's rods and stack with the weights you already have.
Can you copy a weight from a photo?
A photo next to a tape measure is a great start, but exact dimensions or a sample weight give the best fit. We'll tell you what else we need when you call.
How long does a custom order take?
It depends on the design and the quantity. You'll get a timeline along with your quote.
